Each Thursday evening, the Bingo Club carpools to local Bingo events for low-cost Bingo nights. We leave Encanterra at about 4:30 PM and return before 9:30 PM, picking up dinner along the way, or as available at selected locations where we play.
On the second Friday of each month, depending upon participation level, we visit a local casino (i.e. Lone Butte, Ak-Chin, or Fort McDowell) for a Matinee Session of higher-cost, higher-payout Bingo. Usually two carpools travel to this event, one returning as soon as Bingo is over (at about 4:00 PM) and the other staying until 8:00 PM (depending upon the group).
The idea for this club is that each individual player throws all 4 balls per round. Games are played until 1 team scores 10 points; no time limit ending games. All matches are played during daylight on Monday mornings. Matches consist of 3 games. Scoring for standings positions are based first on matches won, second on games won, and third on points scored.
Captains can interchange players after each round at their discretion. Team size is from a minimum of 2 players to a suggested maximum of 6 players.
The goal is to have fun in a friendly competitive environment.
Welcome to the Encanterra 2018 Winter Bocce League. This season we have 39 teams participating, with more than 340 participants. The league will start the week of January 6th and run through the end of March. Play days are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Game times are 4:15pm or 6:00pm. You may expect a League Standings sheet each week (assuming your Captain’s are diligent about getting the score sheets to me). At season’s end, each League (play day) will crown a Champion. Additionally, there will be an Overall Encanterra Champion determined by Playoff.
Please contact a committee chairperson or Wayne Eisenberg, League Bocce Ball Committee Chairman, if you are interested in being a part of this club OR league.
The purpose of the Social Bocce Club is about Encanterra Country Club members joining each other in the fun of playing bocce together in a casual and relaxed environment.
Bocce is easy to learn and can be played by people of all ages. It is a game very suitable to coed play because it is more about finesse than power.
All Encanterra Club Members are invited to join in our play on every Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Our hours in the summer during the cooler months are 8:30am – 10:30am and will begin an hour to an hour and a half earlier in the warmer months.
To make it easier to keep track of people’s play and ensure everyone has an opportunity to play as equally as possible, there will be a signup sheet kept on a clipboard on one of the tables. This will be managed on a first-come first-served basis. Each person wanting to play is responsible for individually writing only their name on the list when they arrive. Once you start to play, please scratch a line through your name. Once you finish your game, you can then add your name to the list again. Someone who is playing can not have their name put back on the list until they have finished their game. This will be managed on an honor system.
There are no dues to become a club member. If you are interested in joining our club or have any questions, please contact Bob Cohen.
The Book Club meets monthly to discuss different books. Please look below for a list of the books that will be discussed each month.
The book club meets the second Wednesday of the month from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in Mallorca. Members are encouraged to stop in at the meetings – even if you are only in town for a few days.

ECC Community Service League (“CSL”) was established in 2013. Its mission is to identify and provide services to local causes that are important to ECC members. CSL officers are elected in April and members vote on the events and causes to be supported during our May – April year. Each event or cause has a leader who is responsible for coordinating their committee.
In the past four years, CSL has sponsored fundraiser events benefiting Community Alliance Against Family Abuse ($4000), Pinal County Sheriff K-9 Unit ($25,000), Senior Giving Tree for Home Instead, “Shooting for the Stars” ($6300), The First Tee, a youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people ($3118) and “Casino for Hope” Amanda Hope Rainbow Angel’s, an organization providing support to children with cancer and their families. ($18,906) Total dollars raised this year: $57,324
We are encouraging Encanterra members to participate in the CSL because there are many opportunities both inside this community and outside our gates where support is needed.
Cribbage, or crib, is a card game traditionally for two players, but commonly played with three, four or more, that involves playing and grouping cards in combinations which gain points. This group of Encanterra women plays to the rules of the National Mah Jongg League. They meet every Monday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM in the Ladies Lounge.
Chinese Mah Jongg is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols, although some regional variations use a different number of tiles. In most variations, each player begins by receiving 13 tiles. In turn, players draw and discard tiles until they complete a legal hand using the 14th drawn tile to form four groups (melds) and a pair (head). There are fairly standard rules about how a piece is drawn, stolen from another player and thus melded, the use of simples (numbered tiles) and honours (winds and dragons), the kinds of melds and the order of dealing and play. There are many regional variations in the rules; in addition, the scoring system and the minimum hand necessary to win varies significantly based on the local rules being used.
Chinese Mah Jongg is a fun and easy game to learn to play. We would love to teach any member who would like to learn and join in on the fun.
The Chinese Mah Jongg Club meets every Thursday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Ladies Lounge.
The purpose of this interest group is to provide an opportunity to new Mah Jongg players to practice their skills – all are welcomed, whatever your skill level!
