Members meet on the third Friday of the month at 1:30 PM. Meetings will take place at the Shenandoah Lodge in Rachel’s Kitchen. We either have a presentation on some aspect of our birds here or share pictures and stories of other birding adventures. When weather permits – and the birds are cooperating – we take a Bird Amble to see what’s in the ‘hood. No great birding knowledge is required to participate and beginners are welcomed. We are ALL trying to learn something!

Just last year, the Birding Club took short field trips to the State Arboretum at Blandy Farm, J.R. Thompson Wildlife Refuge and the Limberlost Trail in the Shenandoah National Park. Bird Ambles are practically weekly from late April through early June when our breeders are returning and the migrants are heading north.
